American Express® Platinum Fine Dining Awards Programme reaches new heights.
September 2015 – The annual American Express Platinum Fine Dining Awards Programme, now in its 17th year, seeks to recognise the enormous artistic, social and business contribution that our finest chefs and restaurants make to South African life. The award is at the forefront of re-defining notions of fine dining in a modern and international context and as such reflects cutting edge trends and the delicious diversity of South Africa’s food industry.
This year, 100 restaurants were honoured by American Express at two award ceremonies held at Jubilee Hall, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town on the 7th and at Katy’s Palace Bar in Johannesburg on 14 September 2015. Eight of the restaurants honoured received the prestigious 10-Year award. The number of new restaurants entering the programme has more than doubled since last year.
‘We are delighted to see that our iconic chefs are being joined by an exciting cadre of young chefs rising through the ranks.’ said Pamela White: Head of Corporate Card for American Express. ‘As the exclusive issuer of American Express Cards and merchant acquirer in South Africa, the Nedbank ‘Make Things Happen’ ethos is demonstrated daily by our country’s kitchens and on our restaurant plates. This all adds up to a distinct and delicious client experience for our card holders.’
